Supporting fair & robust trials
The rule of law includes strict controls over how an individual’s trial can operate. While it is inappropriate to go beyond those boundaries, there are a range of actions advocates can take to ensure a person’s trial is fair and robust. This section includes resources explaining the way scientific tests (particularly phylogenetics) should be used in court, examples of cases where community advocates have joined proceedings to ensure key arguments are made and examples of support that has been provided to HIV-positive accused and witnesses.
